Cofounder of Numismatics/Antiques Business on eBay

I co-founded this business during the summer of 2014, when I was trying to sell books that I've finished reading. This was when my dad proposed to work together to sell his collection. This experience allowed me to learn how to manage cash flows through PayPal and resolve any conflicts with payments. I also learned to communicate with customers and potential customers effectively and efficiently to fix issues. Microsoft Excel is a program that I use extensively to manage our orders and revenue/expenses/profits. We've also taken multiple clients and helped them sell their inheritances.

Volunteer at Hagley Museum

I had the opportunity to work with Hagley Museum, beginning in the summer of 2017. There are multiple activities available for students like me to sign up for. My role is to facilitate families' visits to the museum and provide helpful information to those who need it. I work mostly with children and parents, occasionally guiding lost visitors to their destination. My role at Hagley is diverse and will continue to be a part of the Hagley community.

Editor-in-Chief at GVHS Yearbook Club

I joined yearbook club in the beginning of 2016. Almost immediately, I was assigned to the staff pages, which was a bit more difficult due to the length of the pages, and I was the only person assigned to do it. However, I managed to finish the pages by the deadline and the work impressed the club advisor. The next year, I was chosen to be the student life editor. The year after that, I was the baby picture editor. By my senior year, I became the Editor-in-Chief. Being in yearbook club taught me how to manage my time: I balanced schoolwork, club responsibilities, and my part-time job all at once. I teach newer members how to navigate the program and complete pages by the deadline. By joining yearbook club, I was able to test my abilities and learn multiple skills that will eventually aid me in life.

Team Member at Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers

Freddy's Steakburgers is my first official job and my first step into the working environment. I learned to be amiable even in tough situations and how to cope with stress during rush hours. My responsibilities range from working the register to crafting unique custards for our guests. This experience allowed me to understand how to be responsible for my finances and experience independence.

Member of Debate Club

I joined debate club in sophomore year and still plan to participate in it even in my senior year. Debating allowed me to find a different part of me that enjoys public speaking. I learned to think fast and write down crucial points of my opponents' argument and rebut them. Brainstorming and quick thinking are valuable skills to me and I wish to hone them to their peak, and debating gives me that opportunity.
